DON’T GO TO VOTE WITH YOUR SECURITY AIDES – Delta CP Reminds VIPs

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke has reiterated the commitment and preparedness of the command to providing adequate security for saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections and the March 2 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections to ensure a free, fair and credible electoral process in the State.

CP Adeleke, in a statement issued by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer of the comnand, ASP Chuks Orisewezie, enjoined the electorate and INEC officials to go about their civic responsibilities without fear of intimidation, harassment or embarrassment as trained security personnel with INEC/Agency identification tags had been deployed to all the polling units, collation centres, INEC Offices, flash points and other strategic locations in the state.

He reminded all that the restriction on vehicular movement, except for persons on essential duties, would be strictly enforced as the Police would  not hesitate to deal decisively with violators.

The Delta CP further reminded all that VIPs should not to go polling units with their security aides to cast their votes, as he warned that anyone found wsnting would face the wrath of the law.

He advised members of the public to be law abiding, while assuring them that the Police, in collaboration with other security agencies, had the capacity and capability of dealing decisively with any untoward issues and criminality.

CP Adeleke maintained that the Police would continue to provide a level playing field for all stakeholders.
