GOV OKOWA’S RE-ELECTION BID RECEIVES A BOOST WITH HIS ADOPTION BY DELTA CENTRAL YOUTHS

Youths of Delta Central Senatorial district have adopted Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as their sole candidate for the March 2 gubernatorial election.

The youth, under the auspices of the  Delta Central Equity Group, said they would stop at nothing in ensuring a violent free and credible election.

Addressing the gathering, the convener of the Delta Central Equity Group, Honourable Moris Idiovwa, said the mission of the group was to among other things ensure that Senator  Okowa returned as Governor to finish his good work across the state.

He said after carefully screening all gubernatorial candidates in the state, they were convinced that Governor Okowa was the best choice for the state and expressed optimism that Delta state would witness more transformation in his second term in office.

Honourable Idiovwa said they were aware of plans by the opposition party to unleash mayhem during the election to enable INEC declare it inconclusive and perfect their rigging plans, adding that its members would resist any attempt to rig the election.

While promising to ensure that the elections were concluded and the votes secured, the Convener of the group said Delta north senatorial district should be allowed to complete its eight years tenure like the central and south had done.

In their remarks, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and former Governor James Ibori thanked the youth for the solidarity and promised that it would translate into more dividends of democracy to the people and upscale development across the state.

While urging them to remain peaceful during the election, Governor Okowa and Chief Ibori enjoined them to resist any attempt by anyone to rig the elections, adding that they should  ensure that their votes were defended.
