DELTA STATE PDP CAMPAIGN COUNCIL ROUNDS OFF CAMPAIGN TOUR OF THE STATE IN OWA OYIBU, IKA NORTH EAST

The Delta state People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Campaign Council has rounded off its campaign tour of the twenty five local government areas of the state with a grand rally in Owa Oyibu, headquarters of Ika north east local government area.

It was home coming for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who hails from Ika north east as his people, young and old, turned out in their thousands to celebrate and reassure him of their unflinching support.

Addressing the rally, which was attended by former Governor James Ibori, Senator Okowa pledged to improve on his performance in his second term in office.

Governor Okowa said Ika north east had been a stronghold of the PDP and expressed optimism that the council area would record an impressive victory for the party’s candidates for the general election.

He thanked Deltans for their demonstration of love and support in all the local government areas visited during the campaign and urged them to ramain firm and resolute in their resolve to vote for the PDP and defend their votes.

Former Governor James Ibori and the chairman of the campaign council, Professor Sam Oyovbaire, reaffirmed their support for the zoning of the governorship seat among the three senatorial districts of the state from which Delta central and Delta south had benefitted and called for support for Governor Okowa to enable him have his second tenure.

They assured Deltans of more development of the state in the second tenure of Governor Okowa and expressed optimism that Delta state would be better, stronger and more united in the next four years of the Okowa administration.

The rally featured special performances by ace comedian, I GO DIE and Nollywood star, Patience Ozokwor, who urged the people of Delta state to vote for Senator Okowa because of his giant development strides across the state.

The state chairman of the PDP, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, had earlier introduced the party’s candidates to the people and urged them to vote for the PDP to guarantee sustainable development of the state.
