Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has charged PDP faithful in Delta state to mobilise persons who have yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to use the ongoing distribution exercise by INEC to do so.
He gave the charge while addressing a large crowd of PDP faithful and supporters at the campaign rallies in Ndokwa west and Aniocha south local government areas.
Turnout for the campaign rally at Kwale witnessed an unprecedented crowd as various groups and supporters of Governor Okowa in the area drummed support for his reelection, and the victory of other PDP candidates in the local government area.
The Governor explained that with adequate mobilization for people to collect their unclaimed PVCs, the party would secure more votes and record landslide victory for its candidates in the general elections.
Governor Okowa said he was optimistic about victory at the polls considering the support and endorsements by the people, stressing that more attention should be paid to encouraging eligible voters to collect their voter cards.
A leader of the PDP in the area, Senator Patrick Osakwe, reeled out the achievements of the Governor in the area and solicited support for him and other candidates of the party in the area.
In their remarks, the state PDP Chairman, Barrister Kingsley Esiso, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and the Director General of the PDP campaign council, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, maintained that Governor Okowa deserved another term in office to consolidate his achievements.
The campaign rally in Ogwashi-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha south local government area, also recorded a large turnout with party faithful chanting solidarity and victory songs for Governor Okowa and other PDP candidates.
The Governor said he was delighted to hear that the people were campaigning from Ward to Ward, Unit to Unit, and door to door, and urged them to be armed with their voter cards and use them to vote for the party.
He promised to upscale development efforts in the area and other parts of the state, affirming that with the large turnout of supporters in the area the PDP candidates were only awaiting swearing- in.
Speaking on behalf of leaders of the PDP in the area, Chief Gery Ossai appreciated the Governor for all he had done in Aniocha south local government area and promised that the people would translate their joy to massive votes for candidates of the PDP in the elections.
The Governor was accompanied to the rallies by his wife, Dame Edith, his Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro and his wife as well as political leaders from across the state.
