It has been established that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state has diligently served his state beyond expectations to deserve re-election.
The Director-General of the Delta State PDP Campaign Council, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, who disclosed this in Asaba while briefing newsmen on the itinerary for the party’s governorship and House of Assembly electioneering campaign added that Senator Okowa had the constitutional right to present himself for re-election.
Honourable Solomon, a former Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and one time Commissioner for Works, noted that the gentleman agreement between the three senatorial districts of the state had worked for Delta central and Delta south which produced Governors who served for eight years each, stressing that Delta north, which Governor Okowa represents, should also have its second tenure of four years to complete the circle.
The Delta PDP Campaign Council DG explained that the choice of Senator Okowa as Governor was not a mistake as he had done well in all sectors, leaving Deltans and other residents of the state satisfied with his administration.
He said the works of the Okowa administration were evident in all parts of the state making it a strong point of his re-election bid.
Honourable Solomon called on all stakeholders to make the campaigns, which would be issue based, a point of duty, recalling the Governor’s charge that the opposition should not be taken for granted.
